10K-A-Day is an individual six-week step challenge designed to help you move more and have fun as you visit fascinating places along virtual routes. Improve your health as you enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle. The goal is to travel at least 300,000 steps (an average of 10,000 steps a day, five days a week).


Who


All employees are eligible to participate – full-time, part-time and temporary employees. 

 
When
 

  • Registration:  June 12 – June 30
    Late registrations cannot be accepted.
  • Challenge:  June 26 – August 6
  • Deadline to log activity:  August 7 at 11:59 p.m.
     

To earn 50 Healthy Living points, you must:
 

  • Register for the 10K-A-Day Challenge from June 12 through June 30 on the 10K-A-Day page on the Healthy Living website.  If you do not register, you will not be able to earn the Healthy Living points. This is a requirement to participate.
  • Log your activity on the 10K-A-Day page of the Healthy Living website or the 10K-A-Day mobile app.  NOTE: Activity logged on the Healthy Living website or Healthy Living mobile app will not count toward this challenge.
  • Each participant must meet the goal of traveling at least 300,000 steps (an average of 10,000 steps a day, five days a week) over the six-week challenge. Step conversion chart available to the right.


How


If you have a step counter
synced to your account on the Healthy Living website, no action is required for you to begin accumulating steps after you register. If you aren’t sure if your step counter is synced, contact Provant at 855-883-0367. Click here for directions regarding how to sync a step counter.

Approved step counters are Fitbit, Apple Watch, Jawbone and Garmin.

If you do not have a step counter:

  • Log your steps on the 10K-A-Day website or mobile app
    • use the step conversion chart on the right
    • activity logged on other websites/mobile apps will not count
  • Record activity any day, including weekends
  • Enter any non-step activities, like biking or yoga
  • You can backlog activity you have completed


Goal


The goal is to travel at least 300,000 steps (which is on average 10,000 steps a day, five days a week).

  • There is a 25,000 step limit per day.
  • Earn a token every day that you have at least 10,000 steps.
  • If you walk less than 10,000 steps a day, those steps count toward your overall goal of 300,000 steps but steps from one day do not count toward earning a token the following day.


Prizes


Weekly prize drawing:
  Participants who earn at least 5 tokens per week will be entered into the raffle to win a Fitbit, $100 Amazon gift card, designer sunglasses (limited quantity) or Healthy Living apparel.

Challenge prizes:  Ten participants that complete at least 300,000 steps will be put into a drawing to win a choice of a Fitbit, $100 Amazon gift card, designer sunglasses (limited quantity) or Healthy Living apparel.

If you walk at least 300,000 steps will earn you 50 Healthy Living points which will be loaded on the Healthy Living website by Aug. 14.
 

Daily Emails from 10k-A-Day


Employees that register for the 10K-A-Day challenge will receive daily emails from 10K-A-Day. When clicking the links inside the daily emails, you will be directed to the Healthy Living website and will need to log in. In order to access the information, you will then need to click on the challenge link within the Healthy Living website. You can also access this same information on the 10K-A-Day mobile app.
