Regular preventive exams help you and your family address any health risks or concerns early – before they become more serious. In general, preventive exams include routine screenings, checkups, and counseling to prevent illness, disease or other health problems.
All of FirstEnergy’s medical plan options cover designated in-network wellness care services at 100%. This means that there is no out-of-pocket cost to you for these services – no deductible to pay up front and no coinsurance – when:
- You receive them from a health care provider in our network, and
- The main purpose of your visit is to get preventive care.
Please note that services are not considered wellness if you get them as part of being diagnosed, monitored or treated for an illness or injury (except certain care in relation to pregnancy). Also, you may incur out-of-pocket costs if you receive non-wellness care services during the same office visit.

NOTE: Employees who have a CDL exam may earn credit under the Healthy Living program as their annual physical. Simply take the Physician Form to the exam with you.
